Noa Argamani, who was abducted by Hamas and recently rescued by Israeli forces, faced a tragic turn of events as her mother, Liora Argamani, passed away from brain cancer shortly after her return.

Noa’s abduction gained widespread attention when viral footage showed her being taken away by Hamas on a motorcycle, her hand outstretched in distress. The rescue operation less than a month ago reunited her with her father and terminally ill mother.

Liora’s death was announced just over three weeks after Noa’s return home. Throughout her daughter’s captivity, Liora, suffering from stage 4 cancer, had feared she might not live to see her daughter again. Her efforts to bring Noa home were driven by her desire to spend her remaining time with her daughter, whom she had missed dearly during the ordeal.

The emotional reunion between mother and daughter took place in June, allowing Liora to spend her final days surrounded by family, including Noa, who had been brought back from captivity. The hospital where Liora was receiving treatment in Tel Aviv issued a statement requesting privacy for the family during this difficult period.

Noa’s foremost concern upon her rescue was her mother’s condition. Upon confirmation that Liora was still alive, Noa expressed immense relief. Despite Liora’s fragile state, the doctors believed she understood that her daughter was by her side. Noa’s father, Yaakov, acknowledged the difficulty of the reunion, noting the challenges posed by Liora’s condition.

In a video released shortly after her return, Noa spoke of her gratitude for being reunited with her parents after months of uncertainty and captivity. She also highlighted the plight of others still held captive by Hamas, including her partner Avinatan Or.

The circumstances surrounding Noa’s rescue and the subsequent loss of her mother underscore the emotional toll endured by families affected by such traumatic events.
