Glen Powell’s adoption of a rescue puppy named Brisket has had a significant impact on both his life and the rescue organization that facilitated the adoption. While filming “Twisters,” Powell discovered Brisket, a 10 ½-week-old puppy, through an Instagram post from The Labelle Foundation.

This connection began when someone from Powell’s team reached out to the foundation after they showcased Brisket and his litter in a gallery.Samantha Peraino, Head of Operations for The Labelle Foundation, detailed the process to TMZ. After receiving interest from Powell’s representative, the actor completed an adoption application and met Brisket in person.

The meeting was a success, leading Powell to pay the $700 adoption fee, which covered necessary procedures like chipping and spaying/neutering. The adoption was soon finalized, and Powell decided to rename the puppy Brisket from his original name, Ambrosia.

Brisket now has his own Instagram account and is gaining considerable attention on social media. This online presence has not only brought joy to Powell and Brisket but has also positively affected The Labelle Foundation. The organization has seen a noticeable increase in website traffic and public interest due to Powell’s promotion of their cause.

Peraino shared that Brisket was part of a litter of six puppies, all of whom were successfully adopted along with their mother, thanks to efforts from the rescue group. The increased visibility and support from Powell’s adoption have been crucial for The Labelle Foundation, which currently cares for 135 dogs and 8 cats in need of homes.

Despite Brisket’s growing fame, Powell has indicated he will not be taking his new pet on extensive public outings. However, this attention has helped highlight the need for more adoptions and support for other animals in shelters, underscoring the continued importance of adopting from rescue organizations.
