Ukraine Pushes for U.S.-Backed Long-Range Strikes as Conflict with Russia Nears Critical Crossroads

The ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia is reaching a critical juncture, as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy seeks approval from Western allies to use U.S.-guided weapons for deeper strikes into Russian territory. At the United Nations General Assembly, Zelenskyy is advocating for the capability to target Russian military bases responsible for airstrikes that devastate Ukrainian civilian areas and infrastructure.

The situation is delicate, with Russian President Vladimir Putin warning that strikes on Russian soil could escalate NATO’s involvement in the conflict.
